Bear viewing is one of the most popular and amazing attractions in Alaska! If you have never witnessed bears in their natural habitat, and seen them up close it is something you will remember forever! Most all guided bear trips are safe as most guides are usually equipped and educated to make good choices on wildlife viewing trips, make sure your guide and or park ranger is well-trained in bear safety.

Brooks Falls is the most famous place in Katmai to see the bears. It's the place you've probably seen on the Discovery Channel of bears lined up to catch fish as they're jumping up the falls. Brooks has a 50 yard rule that prevents people from getting too close unless you are on a viewing platform. Just remember, bears have the right of way!
